George Y. Kadokawa, 83

It is with great sadness that the Kadokawa Ohana announces the passing of George on June 22, 2020. George was born on February 8, 1937 in Honolulu. He was 83 years old.

He graduated from McKinley High School, then joined the Airforce and was honorably discharged after 4 years. George worked as a salesman in Honolulu, then in 1971 he moved to Maui with his family, where he represented and distributed Frito-Lay products. The company was originally called Frito-Lay of Maui, but as the product lines increased, it was renamed to Tanikai, Inc.

George was a very hard worker and in 1987 he was able to sell Tanikai, Inc to Hawaiian Host. He semi-retired but still wanted to keep busy. During the years following, he worked in security, sales, and golf. George fully retired in 2015 from The Dunes Golf Course, where he was a golf cart attendant. George loved golfing, doing yard work, raising Koi fish, and going to Las Vegas. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jeanette; children: Craig (Susan), Corrine (Mario), Casey (Cathy), Cyril (Joella), and Carole-Ann; grandchildren: Aaron (Katrina), Chad, Chelsea, Branden, Kiara, and Caitlyn; and grand furbabies: Lexi and Nalu.

Private services have been held. Rest In Peace Papa. You deserve it.
