Reason for running, goals:
My years of community service and as a business owner gives me the experience to be part of a collaborative council working for the betterment of all of our residents.
Housing crisis:
Emphasize building communities of residents of all economic backgrounds rather just an “affordable” housing project. Create private-public partnerships and land trusts, fast track the permitting process. Economy:
Think quality rather than quantity. Maui had a high repeat visitor rate; capitalize on it as they spend money in our small businesses.

Reasons for running, goals:
I am running for office because I think of my daughter’s future and how hard it is for younger families to make a living here in Maui County. My ideas have always been helping our working folk live happier and healthier lives in a clean environment. I believe the county should create different jobs with a local version of a green new deal. Specifically, I would like to run more county buses. More buses means less rental cars on the road, less traffic and cleaner air. The county must also have its eyes set on securing farmland for local farmers. Housing crisis:
The causes are low wages, high rents and land banking. My affordable housing plan is to work with local credit unions to help first-time buyers buy homes built on a land trust. We should also hire nonprofit developers such as Habitat for Humanity, or AmeriCorps to help us build homes quickly and truly affordable for our residents. Economy:
We can pivot to agriculture and eat healthier, create better paying jobs. Specifically, the county can create more agricultural parks, and put certified community kitchens on them to give value-added products to boost sales. In the long run,
