Resident recognized by center for peace
Maui radio personality Cindy Paulos — a music producer, author and poet — has been named a 2020 CrossCultural & Peace Crafter Award Laureate by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Center for Peace, the flagship member of the U.S. Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Centers and Associations.
The award ceremony will take place virtually Monday during the commemoration of the 2020 International Day for Peace.
The Cross-Cultural & Peace Crafters event is hosted each year by UNESCO Center for Peace as a way of shining a spotlight and to honor artists, scientists and social justice activists from around the world.
“These individuals have contributed peace to a world in such dire need for peacemakers and social justice. They have significantly contributed, each in their own way, to make this world just a little better,” said Guy Djoken, the executive director of UNESCO Center for Peace.
