-

Maui United Way held its 75th anniversary Virtual Pau Hana Oct. 27. Many key leaders were in attendance including Lt. Gov. Josh Green and Mayor Michael Victorino. Both expressed appreciation for Maui United Way and the role it has played within the community for the last 75 years. Victorino shared that he has served on MUW’s Community Impact Grant Review Committee in the past.

Maui United Way’s President and CPO, Nicholas Winfrey, shared a little about the history of MUW and new projects on the horizon. “Now is the time to lend a helping hand to your community,” said Winfrey. “For Maui United Way’s 75th Anniversary, we‘re only asking for one thing, do more good.”

MUW’s “Do More Good” campaign asks the Maui community to provide support to

Maui United Way, any local nonprofit, or even a neighbor.

“We’re asking you to pledge 75 hours of volunteering, a $75 donation to your Maui United Way or any nonprofit, or sign up in our workplace campaign donating at least $7.50 per pay period,” said Winfrey.

As a way to show support for “doing more good,” MUW has partnered with Hawaii’s Finest owner, Paulele Alcon, for a special and limited edition shirt to celebrate 75 years of support for Maui Nui. To take the pledge and receive a shirt, visit mauiunitedway.org.

One of the first people to pledge to “Do More Good” is Kim Williams from Williams & Associates. Her company donated 3,000 masks to send over to Lanai as they continue to fight the COVID-19 outbreak on the island.
