peacefully on November 19, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 6, 1922, in Wailuku, to parents Henry Pyang Sing Yap, Sr. and Rose (Enomoto) Yap.

Margaret is predecease­d by her beloved husband, Ernest Louis; parents, siblings Ruth Makalii, Harold Yap, Evangeline Sacapanio, Joseph Yap, Libert Yap, Henry Yap Jr, Rosemarie Kele; and her grandson Manuel Lopes III.

Survivors include her son, Malcolm (Kathleen) Louis; daughters, Winona (Richard) Martinez, Monica Revells; sisters, Catherine Casaquit, Charlotte Leong, Henrietta (Art) Simmons; 9 grandchild­ren, Scott Louis, Carl Kalani Zablan, Kevin Zablan, Alyssa Lopes, Joshua Revells, Tara Louis Hemmen, Adam Louis, Richard Martinez II, and Selena Martinez; 16 great grandchild­ren, Aaron, Nicholas, Isaiah, Aydan, Ariana, Tatiana, Carly, Ceri, Ceyla, great-great grandchild­ren, Analeia, Aaron Jr., Lily, Melia, Lokelani, Chase; and numerous nieces, nephews & cousins.

Margaret was known to her family and friends as a kind, loving, prayerful and patient wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and sister. She was always happy and greeted you with her beautiful smile. She enjoyed cooking, hosting family gatherings, working in her garden, caring for her grandchild­ren, and traveling around the world. We will miss her dearly and she will remain forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Ballard Family Mortuary from 10:00-11:30. Mass will follow at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wailuku at 12:30 p.m. followed by burial at 2:00 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank Hospice Maui, and especially her caregivers Julie Bonilla and Judith Fevella for their compassion­ate care of Mom.
