He is predecease­d by his parents, Vicente and C ecilia Som era, Vicente Som era Jr. (Brother) and Benjam in Som era (Brother). He is survived by his wife, Laureana Pio Arellano Som era, children, Lorena (Lee)Kashiwam ura, Renato Rom ero Jr, Erick (Jam ie G arcia) Som era, Nathaniel (Dheane G aliza) Som era. Sisters, Florencia Infantado and Jocelyn Alvarado, brother, Rafael (M iriam ) Som era, G randchildr­en, Jaym e-Lynn (Kalei Kam ahele) Kashiwam ura, Ty Kashiwam ura, Lane Kashiwam ura, Lea (Ethan Egdam in) Kashiw am ura, RussellRom ero, NathanielR­om ero, Jean Rom ero, D ana Rom ero, Julie-Ann Som era-Pagdilao, Kiyana-M arie (Kobi-Ryne Kuge) G arcia W akam atsu, Rim e Som era. 1 G reat-G randdaught­er M ikayla Kam ahele.

His father Vicente Som era Sr. brought Ernesto to Haw aii in the early 70’s. Ernesto worked as a constructi­on worker for Reef Developm ent, then he retired, once his health declined. He was a w orkaholic. He was know n to allconstru­ction workers as “Lovely”. He loved going to the drag races, fishing, diving, spending tim e with fam ily. D uring his retirem ent, he spentm ostofhis days with his grandchild­ren.
