Utility work, landscapin­g to close lanes in Central, West and East Maui

Road and landscapin­g work will cause lane closures in Central, West and East Maui this weekend and next week, the state Department of Transporta­tion announced.

In Wailuku, utility work will cause a right lane closure on Main Street in the westbound direction between South Church Street and Central Avenue from 9 p.m. tonight to 5 a.m. Sunday.

There will also be a left lane closure on Kaahumanu Street in the westbound direction between Waiale Road and Kainani Street from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday and between Kainani Street and Maui Lani Parkway from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for landscape maintenanc­e.

In Paia and Haiku, the left lane of Hana Highway in the eastbound direction between Mile Marker 7, Holo Place, and Mile Marker 16, Haumana

Road, will be closed from 7 a.m. Monday through 4 p.m. Friday for landscape maintenanc­e.

In Lahaina, landscape maintenanc­e will also cause a pair of closures, including a singlelane shutdown on Honoapiila­ni Highway in both directions between Mile Marker 31.5, Honolua Place, and Mile Marker 41.6, Kahekili Highway, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A single lane of Honoapiila­ni in the northbound direction between Mile Marker 19.8, Aholo Road, and Mile Marker 21, Lahainalun­a Road, also will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Meanwhile, the right lane of Honoapiila­ni in the northbound direction between Front Street and Aholo Road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday for tree trimming.
