Road work, tree trimming to cause lane closures across Maui
Road work, tree trimming and storm drain cleaning will cause lane closures across Maui next week, the state Department of Transportation announced Friday.
In Maalaea, single-lane closures will occur in both directions of Honoapiilani Highway between Mile Markers 4.7 and 6.9 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday for installation of rumble strips and striping work.
In Lahaina, the left lane of Honoapiilani Highway will be closed in the northbound direction between Aholo and Lahainaluna roads for landscape maintenance from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday. The right lane of the highway will be closed in the northbound direction near Fleming Road and Front Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today for installation of a new traffic signal box.
In Kihei, the right lane of Piilani Highway will be closed in the southbound direction near Kulanihakoi Street from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday for installation of a temporary traffic signal.
The eastbound lane of Main Street will be closed between North High Street and Hobron Avenue in Wailuku from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Friday for storm drain cleaning.
Single-lane closures in both directions will occur on Hana Highway between Kuiaha Road in Haiku and Uakea Road in Hana for guardrail maintenance from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday to Friday.
In Paia, the right lane of Hana Highway will be closed in the eastbound direction near Ulalena Loop for tree-trimming from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.
Rockfall mitigation and vegetation removal will close a single eastbound lane of the highway near Kaumahina State Wayside Park from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday.
In Kahului, storm drain cleaning will cause right-lane closures in the southbound direction on Maui Veterans Highway between Puunene Avenue and Hookele Street and on Puunene Avenue between West Kaahumanu Avenue and Airport Access Road from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Friday.
