Baldwin High students handle some real CSI work

Retired California police Lt. Joel Salinas shows a 3D-laser scan image of Baldwin High School students Isaiah Oguma (right) and Makalii Sequeira (left) to other students during the Maui Police Department’s Forensic Science Day at the Forensic Facility in Wailuku on Tuesday afternoon. The scanner is used to document crash and crime scenes. About 200 high school seniors from Baldwin and King Kekaulike learned about forensics taught by 42 exhibit demonstrat­ors from the county as well as the FBI and state agencies. The event was held in conjunctio­n with National Forensic Science Week.
