Sukkah building to begin at Beit Shalom

The Jewish Congregati­on of Maui will have a Community Sukkah building and decorating party at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Beit Shalom Synagogue, 634 Alulike St. in Kihei. Everyone is invited to bring decorative leaves and flowers to add to the Sukkah.

Erev Sukkot service, the Festival of Booth, will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, with kiddush in the sukkah. The First Day of Sukkot service will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday with Hallel. Attendees are asked to bring their lulav and etrog.

The Second Day of Sukkot service will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, including Hoshanot. Attendees again are asked to bring their lulav and etrog.

Erev Shabbat Chol Hamo’ed service will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 and Shabbat Chol Hamo’ed service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 29.

Erev Shmini Atzeret service will take place at 6 p.m. Sept. 30. Shimini Atzeret service including Geshem, the prayer for rain, and Yizkor, will be at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 1.

Also on Oct. 1, Erev Simchat Torah service, including Hakafot and dancing, will take place at 6 p.m.

Simchat Torah service will take place at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 2, with everyone called to the Torah, including the children.
