Responsibilities for members of all groups include attending meetings, receiving public testimony and reviewing policies and standards. Members are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the County Council for terms ranging from two to five years.

No monetary compensation is provided, but volunteers are reimbursed for allowable travel expenses.

Anyone interested in serving on a board or commission can apply online at www.maui county.gov/Boards. Applications are available at the county building in the mayor’s office on the 9th floor. Applications can be mailed to Office of the Mayor, County of Maui, 200 S. High St., 9th Floor, Wailuku 96793 or faxed to 270-7870.
