Latest developmen­ts:

■ State Department of Health reports 62 new cases Tuesday, including 30 on Oahu, 21 on Hawaii island and 11 in Maui County, tied to cases in August at the Roselani Place assisted living facility. There were no new cases in Kauai County.

■ There now have been 13,575 cases statewide, including 12,097 on Oahu, 974 in Hawaii County, 408 in Maui County (including 19 on Molokai and none on Lanai) and 59 in Kauai County. A total of 37 cases have been diagnosed out of state. As a result of updated informatio­n, one case from Oahu was removed from the counts.

■ There were four deaths reported statewide Tuesday. There have been a total of 173 deaths — 144 on Oahu, 15 in Hawaii County, 13 in Maui County and one out of state.

■ Three deaths were on Oahu — a man between 60 and 69 years old; a man over 80 years old and a female between 70 and 79 years old. The fourth death was on Maui, a female between 50 to 59 years old who died in August. The case is now being reported as a COVID-19 death due to updated informatio­n. All people had underlying conditions and were hospitaliz­ed.

■ As of Monday, there was one person hospitaliz­ed at Maui Memorial Medical Center due to COVID-19.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on identifyin­g COVID-19:

■ Fever and cough are symptoms.

■ Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, contact your health care provider immediatel­y.

■ Keep track of symptoms.

■ If you have an emergency warning sign (like trouble breathing), get medical attention right away.

■ Some people who are not showing symptoms could have the illness.

Methods for preventing illness include:

■ Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after noseblowin­g, coughing or sneezing.

■ If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.

■ Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

■ Avoid contact with people who are sick; stay home if sick.

■ Wear a face mask in public settings. The mask is intended to protect others.

■ Social distancing: Stay 6 feet apart from others.

■ Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertop­s, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.
