The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa in Kaanapali and the two resorts on Lanai will be reopening Thursday, the same day the state pre-travel testing program to avoid quarantine takes effect.

In addition, First Hawaiian Bank announced the reopening of its Kahana Branch in the Kahana Gateway Shopping Center on Monday. The branch was closed due to the COVID19 pandemic.

The hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays with the first hour devoted to kupuna. Masks are required, hand sanitizer stations will be available and the number of customers in the branch will be limited.

In its announcement Tuesday, the Hyatt said that guests will be able to take advantage of a multimillion-dollar renovation of the 40-acre property, which is set to be completed in the coming months.

“We are thrilled to once again welcome guests to experience our unique Hawaiian hospitality,” said Fred Findlen, general manager of the resort. “Our guest room transformation focused on enhancing and modifying our offerings to ensure our guests and groups can enjoy our beautiful resort for generations to come.”

The resort’s guest room renovation, led by Wimberly Interiors, includes glass lanai balconies and open closets.

The resort will conduct frequent sanitization, hand sanitizer stations will be available throughout the resort, social distancing signage will be incorporated into all common spaces and mobile check-in and check-out will be offered, the resort said.

Only four people will be allowed per elevator, seating will be limited at restaurants, pool chairs and cabanas will be appropriately distanced and masks will be required for guests and resort employees upon entry.

The Four Seasons Resort Lanai, located at Manele, and Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort, in Koele also will reopen Thursday. The resorts are not available for quarantine stays.

Health protocols include rooms disinfected daily and blacklight inspection by room attendants; public areas cleaned hourly with extra attention to frequented areas including front desk counters and public restrooms; and social distancing measures, such as spaced fitness equipment and modified spa services, reduced capacity at restaurants and bars, availability of a-la-carte service with digital menus when possible and contactless in-room dining.

Kits will be placed in each guest room providing masks, hand sanitizer and sanitization wipes, with additional masks supplied on demand.
