WAILUKU — After being arrested in May for violating the 14-day travelers quarantine and last month for allegedly stabbing another woman in Hana, a Colorado woman was arrested again Friday for allegedly breaking windows of Haiku residences and illegally entering one home.

Tara Trunfio, 24, was charged with second-degree unauthorized entry into a dwelling, two counts of fourth-degree criminal property damage and disorderly conduct.

At her initial appearance Monday in Wailuku District Court, Deputy Prosecutor Anthony Herndon asked that Trunfio’s bail remain at $5,000. He said she was arrested after reportedly breaking windows of a couple of residences and trying to unlock doors.

The residence that Trunfio illegally entered is in the 1500 block of Haiku Road, according to the complaint against her.

Police records show Trunfio was arrested at 12:23 p.m. Friday.

While she doesn’t have a criminal record in Hawaii,

Trunfio is charged with second-degree assault and resisting arrest in a pending case, Herndon said. He said she had been released on supervision in that case before her release was revoked.

Deputy Public Defender David Pullman asked for Trunfio’s bail to be reduced to $1,000.

Judge Kirstin Hamman kept bail at $5,000.

Trunfio was ordered to stay away from the victims and house on Haiku Road, as well as another residence in the 1700 block of Haiku Road and two other victims who live on West Kuiaha and Haumana roads.

She was ordered not to consume alcohol or illegal drugs and to seek mental health treatment.

Trunfio was being held on a $12,000 warrant alleging she violated conditions of her release in the stabbing case.

Police said the stabbing occurred in the early-morning hours of Sept. 11 on Ulaino Road in Hana. According to a declaration filed in court, the victim reported being stabbed in the back by Trunfio after inviting the homeless woman to sleep on the couch for a few days.

Trunfio was released on supervision Sept. 23, court records show.

In May, after being arrested for violating the 14-day mandatory travel quarantine when she arrived on Maui, Trunfio was released to another agency, according to police. ■
