COVID-19 AT A GLANCE

Latest developments:

■ State Department of Health reported 57 new cases as of noon Sunday, including 46 on Oahu, four on Hawaii island, one on Kauai and three on Maui. Three residents were diagnosed out of state.

■ There now have been 17,840 cases statewide, including 15,264 on Oahu, 1,595 in Hawaii County, 656 in Maui County (533 on Maui, 106 on Lanai and 17 on Molokai) and 112 in Kauai County. A total of 213 cases have been diagnosed out of state. As a result of updated information, one case from outside the state was reclassified to Oahu and one case from Oahu was removed from the counts.

■ DOH also reported four deaths, including two on Oahu and two on Hawaii island.

■ There have now been 244 deaths — 190 on Oahu, 34 on Hawaii island, 17 on Maui, one on Kauai and two out of state.

■ Gov. David Ige approves Kauai Mayor Derek Kawakami’s request to place a temporary moratorium on Kauai’s participation in the state’s pretravel testing program, effective at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on identifying COVID-19:

■ Fever and cough are symptoms.

■ Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID19, contact your health care provider immediately.

■ Keep track of symptoms. ■ If you have an emergency warning sign (including trouble breathing), get medical attention right away.

■ Some people who are not showing symptoms could have the illness. Methods for preventing illness include:

■ Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after nose-blowing, coughing or sneezing.

■ If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.

■ Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

■ Avoid contact with people who are sick; stay home if sick.

■ Wear a face mask in public settings. The mask is intended to protect others.

■ Social distancing: Stay 6 feet apart from others.

■ Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.
