Latest developmen­ts:

■ State Department of Health reported 144 new cases as of 11:59 p.m. Tuesday, including 118 on Oahu, 14 on Maui, seven on Hawaii island and two on Kauai. Three residents were diagnosed out of state.

■ There now have been 18,186 cases statewide, including 15,540 on Oahu, 1,613 in Hawaii County, 689 in Maui County (565 on Maui, 106 on Lanai and 18 on Molokai) and 116 in Kauai County. A total of 228 cases have been diagnosed out of state. As a result of updated informatio­n, two cases from Oahu were dropped from the counts.

■ DOH reported two more deaths of Oahu residents, a woman over 80 and a man in his 70s, both of whom had been hospitaliz­ed and had underlying conditions.

■ There have now been 246 deaths officially reported, including 192 on Oahu, 34 on Hawaii island, 17 on Maui, one on Kauai and two out of state.

■ Three clusters combining for 22 cases have been connected to Maui County bars and nightclubs in the last 14 days, according to the state’s weekly cluster report released Thursday. Other clusters were connected to restaurant­s (one cluster, six cases), a social gathering (one cluster, 14 cases) and a gym (one cluster, two cases). No locations were given.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on identifyin­g COVID-19:

■ Fever and cough are symptoms.

■ Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, contact your health care provider immediatel­y.

■ Keep track of symptoms.

■ If you have an emergency warning sign (including trouble breathing), get medical attention right away.

■ Some people who are not showing symptoms could have the illness.

Methods for preventing illness include:

■ Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after nose-blowing, coughing or sneezing.

■ If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.

■ Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

■ Avoid contact with people who are sick; stay home if sick.

■ Wear a face mask in public settings. The mask is intended to protect others.

■ Social distancing: Stay 6 feet apart from others.

■ Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertop­s, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.
