COVID-19 AT A GLANCE

Latest developments:

■ State Department of Health reported 114 new cases as of 11:59 p.m. Sunday, including 83 on Oahu, 21 on Maui and four on Hawaii island. Six residents were diagnosed outside of the state.

■ There now have been 23,627 cases statewide, including 19,389 on Oahu, 2,030 in Hawaii County, 1,462 in Maui County (1,331 on Maui, 106 on Lanai and 25 on Molokai) and 167 in Kauai County. A total of 579 cases have been diagnosed out of state.

■ No deaths were reported on Tuesday; there remain 309 statewide, including 242 on Oahu, 45 on Hawaii island, 18 on Maui, one on Kauai and three out of state.

■ Hawaii is averaging 189 daily new cases as a state, with a test positivity rate of 3.3 percent, while Maui County is averaging 35 new daily cases with a positivity rate of 3.2 percent.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on identifying COVID-19:

■ Fever and cough are symptoms.

■ Most people have mild illness and are able to recover at home. If you think you may have been exposed to COVID19, contact your health care provider immediately.

■ Keep track of symptoms.

■ If you have an emergency warning sign (including trouble breathing), get medical attention right away.

■ Some people who are not showing symptoms could have the illness.

Methods for preventing illness include:

■ Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after nose-blowing, coughing or sneezing.

■ If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.

■ Avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

■ Avoid contact with people who are sick; stay home if sick.

■ Wear a face mask in public settings. The mask is intended to protect others.

■ Social distancing: Stay 6 feet apart from others.

■ Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily. This includes tables, doorknobs, light switches, countertops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets and sinks.
