GOP refusal to convict based only on reelection
I have never been so disappointed in America than I am right now.
America used to stand for law, order and justice. Reagan’s “shining city upon a hill” has lost luster and is now a “——hole country deep in despair.”
Leading the way down the rabbit hole is Don “The Con” supported unquestioningly by his Republican enablers.
The blame for the spectacular failure of America sits directly at the feet of the treasonous Republican Party. In refusing to hold Trump responsible for the Capitol insurrection and the revolt against democracy that he publicly incited, GOP legislators have proven that they are far more loyal to themselves and their reelection concerns then they are their country.
The so-called “law and order party” now turns a blind eye to holding to account all those responsible for the deaths of the brave Capitol police officers, and that includes the GOP’s Traitor-in-Chief.
Trump once said: “I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody and not lose any voters.” Well, now it seems he could lead insurrectionists to overthrow our country and not lose any congressional supporters.
If that’s not an impeachable offense, then nothing is.
If you want to know what’s wrong with America, it’s not everyone else. It’s not “others.” Culpability rests solely, squarely, entirely at the feet of the Republican Party. If you want to resurrect America, remove the cancer by holding Republicans accountable at every election going forward. Do that and we may very well “Make America Great Again.”
