Tournament finals set in MIL bowling

The Kamehameha Schools Maui boys and girls, Baldwin girls and King Kekaulike boys bowling teams won their semifinal matches in the Maui Interschol­astic League tournament on Saturday at Wailuku Lanes.

Travis Brittain bowled high games of 187 and 158 to help lead the third-seeded King Kekaulike boys to a 2-1 win over No. 2 Baldwin for the lone upset of the day. Rayden Siarot had a 186 and 175, and Camden Eyre a 120 for Na Alii, who will face top-seeded Kamehameha Maui in the tournament final.

The Bears were led by Jarin Tateishi (191-161), Kelvyn Saito (139) and Christian Kaina-Behrendt (115).

The Warriors posted a 3-0 win over No. 4 Maui High in the other boys semifinal. Anson Cabello led Kamehameha with the highest game of the day — 201 — along with a 183 and 171. Jasyah Macugay bowled a 177 and 169, and Joshua Miller a 161.

The Sabers’ top games came from Hayden Hondo (151), Jarred Peros (130) and Chase Nozaki (126).

The second-seeded Kamehameha girls got a 133 from Tahan Valdez and 122 from

Jordan Holokai-Jacinto in defeating No. 3 Maui High 3-0. The Sabers were led by Jacy Anne Dela Cruz (142) and Achea Barcoma-Suyat (137).

The top-seeded Baldwin girls made it to the finals with a 3-0 win over No. 4 King Kekaulike. Jailee Fujita bowled a 151 and 147, Kaycee Takai a 147 and Kalena Torres-Estores a 113 to lead the Bears.

Ryley Jackson (123-123) and Magdalena Enriquez (124) led Na Alii.

Tournament finals are set for 8 a.m. this Saturday at Wailuku Lanes, with onegame overall championsh­ips to follow at noon, if necessary.
