Art Explorers
Art Explorers presents its 14th Annual November
show, Inside / Out, virtually this year at artexplorers.org beginning on Nov. 1. The show features work from 36 artists, focused around the things we have been dealing with throughout the pandemic —being inside, longing for what is outside. Finding joy in small places, creating a fantasy world to escape to, missing our friends and favorite things. Artwork will be for sale online and in their studio—all sales benefit the artist and Art Explorers directly. The Art Explorers studio at 333 N. Franklin St., Fort Bragg, will be open Sundays in November from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with safety protocol of masks and social distancing in place. Visit their Facebook page or Instagram@artexplorersfb for live videos and updates. Art is good for your immune system!
Mendocino Theatre Company’s 2020 Reading Series continues ‘on the air!” On Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m., gather ’round the radio (or iPhone or computer or tablet) for a reading of works by Edgar Allan Poe, featuring actors Janet Atherton, Nancy Bartke, Daniel Brewer, Mark Friedrich, Mervin Gilbert, Mark Jordan, Scott Menzies, and Steven P. Worthen. This reading, directed by Lynn Sotos, will feature four of Poe’s most beloved poems— “The Raven,” “The Bells,” “Annabel Lee,” and “The Conqueror Worm” — along with dramatic adaptations of two short stories “The Cask of Amontillado” and “The Tell-Tale Heart.” MTC’s “American Gothic” will be broadcast on KZYX, 90.7 FM.
