FORT BRAGG » The 24th Annual Community Thanksgiving Meal will be provided on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26 at the Fort Bragg First Presbyterian Church, 367 S. Sanderson Way.

This meal is known for its tradition of warm welcome, interpersonal and spiritual nourishment, and a unifying sense of community for guests and volunteers alike. During Thanksgiving week, many hands lovingly prepare well over 600 meals to share with friends and neighbors on Thanksgiving Day.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, this year things will be done a bit differently, however we will still offer a friendly welcome and a delicious meal as we share our gratitude for the community, “together in spirit.”

This year’s menu features a delicious turkey Picnic Box Lunch, to be distributed by Home Delivery or Curbside Pick.

Delivery will start early, at 10 a.m. and Curbside Pick Up will be distributed from noon to 3 p.m. Reservations are necessary for all meals, no matter which: Home Delivery or Curbside.

Due to pandemic precautions, we cannot serve any home-baked food items. This year we are asking all generous souls in our community to pre- order a dessert to be served as part of this meal through our Dessert Donation Purchasing Program at one of three partner businesses.

Simply place your order and it will be baked especially for the Community Thanksgiving Meal and delivered to the church near Thanksgiving Day.

Our participating partners are Harvest Market, Safeway and A Sweet Affair’s online store at www.asweetaffairpatisserie.com/online-store.

And of course, volunteers are needed to help in many ways during Thanksgiving week. Volunteer slots are limited due to COVID-19 protocols, so sign up soon for your preferred shift on the Community Thanksgiving website.

With strong community support, we can come close to replicating that feeling of connection we have experienced during this annual event.

The church grounds will be inviting and festive, our menu traditional yet unique, our meal packaging personal and special, and our connections meaningful — as we celebrate together in spirit — and share our gratitude for family, friendships and community.
