Northcoast Artists Gallery

Northcoast Artists Gallery is pleased to present their November show, featuring the work of gallery members, Sarah Logan and Kyoko Hirota. Sarah will be showing sculptural ceramics and mixed media drawings. Kyoko will be showing mixed media paintings of coastal landscapes. Sarah describes her work: “I use the sculptural vessel as an overture and expression of time, memory, and place; creating intimate objects based on my negotiations through life. With the pace of life accelerating, we forget to take time to examine and be aware of our surroundings. My work focuses on the still moments, and exaggerates the overlooked details of a busy existence. The work of these two artists really complements each other. The show runs from through Nov. 30. Northcoast Artists Gallery is open Fridays through Mondays, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 707-964-8266 or vsit them at 362 N. Main St., Fort Bragg or northcoastartists.org.

Partners Gallery

In November Partners Gallery is exhibiting Visual Metaphors, the gallery’s third online show, featuring Pamela Hahn, Virginia Sharkey and Mina Cohen. Reflecting the theme of the primacy of the visual in our understanding of our world, each artist explores her individual experience of seeing and knowing.

In her large acrylic paintings Sharkey focuses on the energy and presence of noon, while Hahn’s new encaustic work is inspired by her immediate surroundings and imagination created while sheltering in place. As the election looms Cohen incorporates snakeskin as a metaphor in her mixed media musings on the hegemony of the powerful.

Visitors to the website at partnersgallery.com can also view the work of all 12 gallery artists as well the Partners Blog and News. For more information, email partners@mcn.org or call 707-962-0233.
