Art Explorers
The Art Explorers studio and gallery are open Tuesday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Art Explorers is an art studio and gallery serving adult artists with disabilities and brain injuries. Edgewater Gallery The July featured artist at Edgewater Gallery is Greg Burdick, creator of redwood burl art. Greg has been collecting redwood burls and cutting tables for forty years, saving the best of the best. Upon retirement, Greg is using these very special pieces to create one-of-a-kind tables, bowls, sculptures, and wall-hanging art. Light refreshments served. The Mendocino Coast Photography Gallery
The Mendocino Coast Photographer Gallery is a cooperative partnership of four Mendocino Coast Photographers with many years of professional experience in wildlife, landscape, and fine art photography. The photographers are Ken Van Der Wende, John Birchard, Scott Chieffo, and Jonathan Pazer. April and May will feature two guest photographers, Paul House and Lisa D. Walker-Roseman. Northcoast Artists Gallery
Northcoast Artists Gallery is pleased to present its July show featuring member artist Virginia Ray offering her whimsical and imaginative studies, that are like walking through a natural history museum, curiosity shop, and meditation temple. She has been cultivating her unique style of found object art for over 35 years. Her studio is a 5-minute walk to Sea Glass Beach, where inspiration and treasures can always be discovered. Her assemblages combine her great sense of the way unrelated objects can work with each other, and when artfully combined, form a whole new meaning. Pacific Textile Arts Pacific Textile Arts will host an opening on First Friday, July 1, for a new show of handwoven rugs and tapestries created by the family of Rodrigo Sosa Bautista of Teotitlan Del Valle, Oaxaca, Mexico. Rodrigo will be present at the opening to describe the traditional processes used for generations by his family, including spinning, weaving, and dyeing yarns with natural dyes. Refreshments will be served on the outside covered patio. Masks are required in the Gallery. This exhibit will be shown during the months of July and August and can be seen during the regular weekly hours of Thursdays, 10:3012 and Saturdays, 11-1:00, or by appointment by calling 1-707-409-6811. The Larry Spring Museum
On First Friday, July 1, local favorites Théâtre de la Liberté presents the Lost Key to Open the Language of the Spring — A Dada-esque puppetry performance starting at 6:30 p.m. Please enter through the gates beside 225 E Redwood, Fort Bragg.
