The Mendocino Film Fest launches indie film series at Coast Cinemas

-

Following the success of the Classic Film Series, the Mendocino Film Festival is pleased to introduce a new Indie Film Series to be screened on the last Wednesday of each month at Coast Cinemas in Fort Bragg. These are recently released films that many in our local community have not yet had an opportunity to see on the big screen. Indie films are known for their quirky characters, offbeat plots, and innovative storytelling.

The Indie films scheduled

for February through April are After Yang (one of Barack Obama’s top 10 movies for 2022), Bitterbrush, and the locallymade Crabs! Crabs! made its screen debut at the 2022

Mendocino Film Festival.

“The new Indie Film Series clearly aligns with the Mendocino Film Festival’s mission of featuring independent films and supporting their filmmakers,”’ Angela Matano, Executive Director of the Mendocino Film Festival said. “We are delighted that we are able to bring more of these films to the Mendocino and Fort Bragg community.”

The Classic Film Series, now in its third year, continues to attract solid crowds. Both of these film series is made possible through our partnership with Coast Cinemas and the generous support of our sponsors. Recent sponsors have included Mendocino Jewelry Studio, The Waiting Room, Moonberry, Lunar Tide, MCN, Headlands Coffeehouse, Magruder Ranch, and The New Museum Brewers & Blenders.

More information on these films, the 2023 Mendocino Film Festival, or on sponsorship is available on the Mendocino Film Festival website, Instagram, and Facebook accounts or by contacting the Executive Director at director@ mendocinofilmfestival.org or 707 937 0171.
