Mendocino High School gets ready for annual Winter Showcase
MENDOCINO, CA >> This Saturday, December 9th, the Mendocino High School Career Technical Education program (CTE) will hold its 5th annual Winter Showcase at Mendocino Community High School at 45220 Covelo Street, Mendocino, CA.
The public event will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and includes various hand-made items for sale and hot soups and beverages outdoors at the food stand.
The evening focuses on what Multi Media Director Marshall Brown describes as “the magic of hands-on learning and creative expression.”
The Culinary, Woodshop, and Horticulture programs will be offering desserts, cutting boards, toys, turned vessels, and customdesigned cornhole boards. Also for sale will be succulents, fava bean starters, and plant seeds.
More hand-made products such as ceramics, printmaking art, and holiday cards from the Art Program will be on sale.
The Electronics and Media programs will be offering swag sales and student presentations. Marshall Brown sees these presentations as an opportunity “to discover the innovative projects and ideas our students have been working on throughout the year.”
Students will be available to the public at the display tables. In all, over 100 students create items and presentations each year.
Attending the event will give positive support to the students, but additionally, according to Marshall Brown, “Every dollar spent by the public at the showcase directly contributes to the growth and developments of our programs.”
Brown added, “Help us continue enriching our students' experiences by purchasing unique, hand-crafted items.”
