California schools are failing their students
Reports in your newspaper (Page 1A, Aug. 25) that fewer than 50 percent of high school students are proficient in English and math is appalling. These students will be unable to function in our society. After spending massive amounts of money on education, it’s time to admit that our state education system is a massive failure. Until the titanium wires that hold our educational system down are cut, it will continue to wreak havoc on the future of California.
