Raiders developments Inching toward Vegas

-

Step by step, the Raiders are preparing for a potential move to Las Vegas. The team filed a trademark application lastweek for “Las Vegas Raiders” with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, according to Forbes. And Thursday, the Southern Nevada Tourism InfrastructureCommittee published a report detailing a proposed stadium with renderings and a cost figure of $1.9 billion. The report included plans to apply for a Super Bowl in Vegas, using numbers of economic benefit from Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara. The trademark application is no guarantee for a move (the Chargers applied for “LA Chargers” but remain in San Diego).“That said, these types of filings do serve to demonstrate that there is a true effort to at least strongly consider relocation,” wrote Forbes’Darren Heitner. However, there are plenty more hurdles to relocation for Raiders owner Mark Davis and Co.
