Lynbrook student wins service award

Raghav Ganesh, a freshman at Lynbrook High in San Jose, has been named one of 15 youth nationwide to win the top award of the Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes. Raghav, 14, invented SmartWalk, a device with electronic “eyes” to help the visually impaired navigate obstacles. He and his fellow winners will each get $5,000 to support their service work or higher education.
