Why San Jose Unified needs Meek on board

My wife Kimberly Meek is running for the San Jose Unified School District Board, and, of course, I want her to win. But, while I want her to win, the students of San Jose need her to win. Most of the students in Almaden Valley are doing well, but this isn’t true for Allen at Steinbeck, where only 26 percent of students are proficient in math and 38 percent in English Language Arts. There are more than 32,000 students in SJUSD, and only 42 percent are proficient in math and 54 percent are proficient in English Language Arts. We are failing to prepare our students for the jobs of the 21st century. We need change. Vote for Kimberly Meek for school board Nov. 8.
