Kristi Yamaguchi ripped for tweet to Nancy Kerrigan
Kristi Yamaguchi tweeted to fellow former figure skater Nancy Kerrigan to “break a leg” while competing on “Dancing With the Stars.” D’oh. Of course, Yamaguchi is getting roasted on social media for what seems like an honest mistake. The Fremont native, Alamo resident and Olympic gold medalist won a “DWTS” championship in 2008.
“Can’t wait to see you Singer Beyoncé, who is pregnant with twins, granted a FaceTime chat wish for a dying teen. grace that ballroom floor, break a leg!” the 45-yearold wrote.
Of course, Kerrigan already has (technically it was bruised), when her rival Tonya Harding schemed with her ex-husband to club Kerrigan’s leg in 1993 to knock her out of competition.
According to the New York Post, one Twitter user responded by writing, “That may or may not have been a good choice of words.” Another wrote “Whyyy, whyyy, whyyy hasn’t this tweet been deleted … are you that naive?”
Kerrigan, 47, didn’t seem to mind, writing back, “Thank you so much Kristi! I’m excited to get this started!” She also thanked her for the advice and wrote, “It is definitely helping!”
