Voter commission must not be trusted
There’s a good reason that 45 states have refused to turn over sensitive voter information to the sham Presidential Commission on Voter Integrity: this fake commission cannot be trusted with voter names, addresses, party affiliations, and the last four digits of Social Security numbers. Its members have controversial records and a long history of supporting voter suppression efforts. Unlike previous voter fraud commissions, this one is partisan and not backed by major research universities to direct fact-finding efforts. The driving force behind this partisan commission, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, is a long-time “birther” who was threatened with contempt of court last September by a federal judge for not complying fully with a court order requiring certain voters to be considered registered. — Susan Gale, San Jose
