High taxes wreck the state

I actually laughed out loud at the “Why California works and Washington doesn’t,” Page 1A, July 19).

California is the most highly taxed state in the United States and our infrastructure is disintegrating (Oroville Dam being a prime example), our bond ratings are less than optimal, our public employee retirement systems are severely underfunded, our transportation systems are broken, our water supply is inadequate for our increasing population, and… California is a highspeed train wreck!
