500 block of East Hamilton Avenue, 8:30 p.m. Sept 1: According to police, two men were working together in an effort to steal merchandis­e in a store. They were arrested after trying to flee. 1500 block of South Bascom Avenue, 6:40

p.m. Sept. 1: A 35-yearold woman was causing a disturbanc­e, was placed under arrest for being under the influence of a controlled substance. She then kicked the officer after refusing to be placed into the police vehicle. Los Goats Creek Trail near Campisi Way, 10:57 a.m.

Sept. 1: Officers contacted two men and one was in possession of a stolen bike. 700 block of Sobrato Drive, 11:50 p.m. Aug. 31: Police said someone tampered with someone’s car ignition. 1500 block of South Bascom Avenue, 9:30 p.m. Aug. 31: Someone broke into three vehicles and stole two laptop computers. 800 block of Gale Drive, Aug. 31: A vehicle was scratched by a sharp object. 400 block of East Hamilton Avenue, 5:30 p.m.

Aug. 31: A 29-year-old was caught shopliftin­g but managed to flee from loss prevention staff.

Palo Alto

400 block of Quarry Road, 7:30 p.m. Saturday: A vehicle was smashed and property was stolen. Another vehicle’s window was smashed and items were taken more than 30 minutes earlier in the same location. 100 block of El Camino Real, 9 p.m. Saturday: Police recovered a vehicle that was stolen earlier. 1600 block of University Avenue, 10:35 a.m. Saturday: Someone vandalized a vehicle. 500 block of Webster Street, 10 p.m. Sept. 1: Police said someone smashed a car window and stole items. At least five other similar incidents occurred where items were stolen from vehicles after the windows were smashed. 3800 block of El Camino Real, 5:52 p.m. Sept. 1: A bicycle was reported stolen. 800 block of El Camino Real, 3:30 p.m. Sept. 1: Someone stole a wallet. 4200 block of El Camino Real, 12:25 a.m. Sept. 1: According to police, someone stole a car.

Aug. 31: A man wearing a gray shirt and sweat pants stole headphones. Jefferson Avenue, 1:21 p.m. Aug. 31: Packages delivered to a porch were stolen. Brewster Avenue, 7:16 a.m. Aug. 31: Police said someone stole a vehicle.

Cutwater Lane, 6:05 p.m. Aug. 31: Property was reported stolen. Foster City and East Hillsdale boulevards, 1:22

p.m. Aug. 31: Police said they placed two under arrest for occupying a stolen vehicle.
