Hines’ two TDs key N.C. State win
Nyheim Hines ran for two touchdowns and Ryan Finley threw for another to help No. 24 North Carolina State beat No. 17 Louisville 39-25 on Thursday night in Raleigh, N.C.
Hines ran for 102 yards and had a 48-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter that helped set up a touchdown drive for the Wolfpack (5-1, 3- 0 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Finley threw for 367 yards and a 48-yard score to KelvinHarmon, part ofN.C. State’s 520 total yards on a night it never trailed against the Cardinals (4-2, 1-2). PELINI: CONVICTED PLAYER EARNED SECOND CHANCE
» Youngstown State football coach Bo Pelini says the school made a mistake by not publicizing right away that one of the teens convicted in the high-profile Steubenville rape case was joining the team — but that the player earned a second chance three years after getting out of prison by staying disciplined, focused and out of trouble.
“I understand that the opportunity to be a part of the teamraises questions,” Pelini saidthe sameweekthe university settled a lawsuit brought by Ma’lik Richmond to allow himto stay on the teamafter the school planned to make himsit this season and lose a year of eligibility.
Richmond was 16 in 2013 when he and a Steubenville High School teammate were convicted of sexually assaulting a 16-year- old during a party. He served 10 months in juvenile prison.

DENTARRESTED » The president of the Brazilian Olympic Committee was arrested amid a probe into a votebuying scheme to bring the Olympics to Rio de Janeiro.
Carlos Nuzman was held for questioning last month by Brazilian and French authorities. They said he was a central figure in channeling at least $2 million to Lamine Diack, a former IOCmember from Senegal who helped secure votes when Rio was picked in 2009 by the IOC.

America’s Cup
N.Y. CLUB RETURNS » The New York Yacht Club is returning to the America’s Cup after an absence of a decade and a half. The club announced it will challenge for the 36th America’s Cup, to be held in early 2021, likely off Auckland, New Zealand.
The NYYC last backed a challenge in 2002- 03 with Team Dennis Conner. It held the silver trophy from 1851 until 1983, when Australia II beat Conner’s Liberty to end the longest winning streak in sports.
