Schumer’s married, yes, but not preggers
Actress and comedian Amy Schumer married her chef boyfriend Chris Fischer in an intimate but star-studded Malibu wedding, Us Weekly is reporting.
The couple, who have been quietly dating at least since November, tied the knot at a rented house in front of Jennifer Lawrence, Jennifer Aniston, Larry David, David Spade, Judd Apatow and about 80 other people. Perhaps appropriately, a comedian officiated the ceremony.
Page Six noted that the wedding took place just after the “Trainwreck” star made her romance official, via Instagram. She posted a photo of her kissing Fischer that was taken at Ellen DeGeneres’ big, star-studded 60th birthday party over the weekend.
She also posted Instagram photos of the ceremony, said USA Today.
Yup,” Schumer captioned the photos that show her in a white wedding dress and hand in hand with Fischer, who’s decked out in a blue suit ( but not a Tuxedo).
The wedding took so many people by surprise that Schumer was prompted to insist that no, another big announcement was not on the way.
“No I am not pregnant,” she posted on Instagram, People reported.
The newlyweds were first linked in November 2017, when Page Six confirmed they dined together at a restaurant in New York City. Fischer met Schumer through her personal assistant, who is Fischer’s sister, according to E! News.
Schumer previously dated furniture designer Ben Hanisch for about a year and a half, but they broke up in May.
Fischer rose to celebrity-chef fame as a sous chef at Mario Batali’s Babbo, but has since moved back to his native Martha’s Vineyard where he runs Beetlebung Farm, which has been a family operation since 1961, according to the James Beard Foundation.
Fischer also is the author of the 2015 “Beetlebung Farm Cookbook,” which won a James Beard Award, while his Beach Plum restaurant on Martha’s Vineyard was named by Esquire magazine as a favorite “date spot” of former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama.
Schumer’s good friend and fellow comedian Bridget Everett told Us Weekly that Schumer is “very happy” and head over heels in love with Fischer.
Schumer is among the headliners at Clusterfest in San Francisco June 1-3. The festival, which is presented by Comedy Central. will host Schumer, Trevor Noah and Jon Stewart as well as bands at San Francisco’s Center Plaza and Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.
