Restaurants host Tip-A-Cop/ Special Olympics fundraisers
Officers will wait tables at several area restaurants
There’s good reason to tip lavishly at these upcoming restaurant fundraisers.
Law enforcement officers will be waiting on tables — and for a good cause.
Called Tip-A- Cop, the events will raise money for the Special Olympics of Northern California via the Law Enforcement Torch Run and other benefits.
Here’s a roundup: ELEPHANT BAR» Today, law enforcement personnel will wait tables from 6 to 9 p.m. at two Elephant Bar locations in the Bay Area, Hayward (Southland Mall) and Burlingame (Old Bayshore Highway). MALONE’S GRILLE» At lunchtime Saturday, April 14, local officers will be serving at Malone’s Grille, 4402 Scotts Valley Drive, Scotts Valley. Hours will be 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. THE POINT BISTRO» Officers fromthe California Department of Corrections will volunteer as waiters from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, April 27, at The Point Bistro and Cantina, 555 Main St., Vacaville. BLACK BEAR DINER» On Thursday, May 3, offices will head to local Black Bear Diners to wait tables from breakfast through lunchtime. Locations participating in the 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. fundraiser include Pleasanton (100 Hopyard Road), Milpitas (174 W. Calaveras Blvd.), Sunnyvale (415 E. El Camino Real), Hayward (25202 Hesperian Blvd.), Vallejo (980 Admiral Callaghan Lane) and Emeryville (5750 Christie Ave.). NOELANI’S BAR & GRILL» Look for a Hawaiian theme when officers from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department volunteer as TipA- Cop waiters from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 17, at Noelani’s, 1037 Laurel St., San Carlos.
