Police on Wednesday released a sketch of a man wanted in connection with the armed robbery of a 17-year-old boy in downtown Palo Alto last weekend.

The victim was walking and talking on his cellphone at Lytton Avenue and Kipling Street about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, when three men in their 20s approached him and demanded his cellphone, according to police.

When the victim refused, a member of the trio pointed a handgun at him and told him to get on the ground, police said. The victim refused again and the gunman allegedly punched him in the head.
