Draymond Green’s versatility extends beyond the basketball court.

The Warriors star, in pursuit of his goal of being a billionaire before age 40, has applied to trademark the phrase “Hampton 5,” according to TMZ.

“We noticed someone had filed for the ‘ Hampton 5’ trademark in 2017,” TMZ reported in a post. “A deeper dive revealed the man behind the application is Money 23 Green Enterprises ... aka Draymond.”

The Patent and Trademark Office told TMZ that Green needs only to submit one more document to complete the process. The term, coined by former Mercury News columnist Tim Kawakami, refers to Kevin Durant and the four Warriors players who went to the Hamptons to recruit the free agent superstar after the 2016 season. The four Warriors were Green, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala. The term serves as shorthand to describe when all five are on the floor.

“I still am amused we just matter- offactly call them ‘ The Hamptons 5,’” said Warriors coach Steve Kerr, adding that Kawakami “deserves all the credit.”

Kawakami replied graciously by text to the news. “I’ve said that I’d never trademark this, and if anybody ever did it should be the actual players who are in the Hamptons 5. So more power to Draymond.”

He did add that Green got the name wrong. “It’s Hamptons 5, at least that’s according to me.”

• Curry may not be ready to join the PGA Tour, but the Warriors star is reportedly close to hosting one of its events in the Bay Area. Curry and his Octagon sports management representatives are negotiating with the Tour on a deal that would bring a new event to the Bay Area next September, both the Chronicle and ESPN reported Thursday.
