Is Ryan engaged or even married?
Meg Ryan took to Instragram Thursday to announce that she’s engaged to her longtime rocker boyfriend John Mellencamp.
“ENGAGED!” the 56-yearold “Sleepless in Seattle” star captioned an image of two humorously drawn stick figures that presumably show her and Mellencamp, 67.
The Instagram post follows reports that she and Mellencamp had tied the knot in a recent private ceremony. The Daily Mail posted photos of Ryan out and about in New York City Wednesday, sporting what appeared to be a diamond ring and wedding band on that finger. According to the tabloid OK!, the wedding took place at the rocker’s ranch outside Bloomington, Indiana.
“(They) realized they can’t live without each other,” a source told OK!, adding that the ceremony took place in front of 20 close family and friends. “There was a buffet and a band, and John even serenaded Meg with a new ballad he wrote,” the source said.
However, OK! doesn’t specify when this supposed ceremony took place.
Ryan was previously mar- ried to Dennis Quaid from 1991 to 2001, but broke up because, Ryan told InStyle, he was unfaithful to her. Their son, Jack Quaid, 26, has followed in his parents’ footsteps and become an actor.
Ryan’s tabloid-style affair with Russell Crowe, her “Proof of Life” co-star, may have tarnished the “America’s Sweetheart” image that surrounded her after she starred in such popular 1980s and 1990s rom-coms as “When Harry Met Sally,” “Sleepless in Seattle” and “You’ve Got Mail.”
Meanwhile, Mellencamp, the Grammy-winning, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, has been married three times and has five children. The “Hurt So Good” singer and Ryan were first romantically linked in 2010 and have broken up and gotten back together several times since, according to reports.
During a period when they were separated in 2015, Mellencamp dated supermodel Christie Brinkley. Ryan, meanwhile, focused on rearing Daily, her 13-year-old daughter whom she adopted from China in 2006. Ryan and Mellencamp reconciled in 2017, and became quietly engaged, according to OK!
