Shooting struggles costly for Cardinal

- By the Associated Press

Cold shooting continued to plague Stanford at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, as the Cardinal missed 18 of its first 23 field goal attempts in a 72- 49 loss to Florida on Thursday in a consolation bracket game in the Bahamas.

It was the second straight year the Cardinal (2-3) met the Gators (3-2) on Thanksgiving day. Last year the Cardinal lost 108-87 to then-No. 7 ranked Florida at the PK80 Invitational in Portland.

Wednesday, Cormac Ryan scored 12 points to lead the Cardinal, who trailed 32-13 at halftime after turning the ball over 13 times and shooting 22 percent from the field. That was on the heels of shooting 27.1 percent from the field in a 59- 45 loss to Wisconsin. The 45 points were the fewest by a Stanford team in three years.
