So much for Ariana Grande’s love for Smokey Joes.

The “Thank U, Next” singer self- deprecatingly joked earlier this week that she was a “huge fan of tiny bbq grills” after fans pointed out that her latest tattoo in Japanese kanji characters did not read “7 Rings” as she had intended, but rather “shichirin,” a Japanese- style charcoal grill.

Grande, 25, didn’t waste any time to try to fix the blunder. She returned to Instagram on Thursday to post a picture of the updated ink and declared that it was “slightly better.”

But is it really? It still doesn’t read “7 Rings,” which happens to be the title of Grande’s latest single, and fans versed in kanji again were quick to give the proper translation. With the addition of two more characters underneath the original tattoo, it now reads “Japanese BBQ finger.”

Grande, 25, had earlier this week posted an image of the original botched tat on her left palm, but quickly wiped the posts off her social media accounts after the mistake had been exposed. She admitted that she and her tattoo artist had left off three characters. “It hurt like (expletive) n still looks tight,” she had written.

“I wouldn’t have lasted one more symbol lmao. But this spot also peels a ton and won’t last so if I miss it enough I’ll suffer thru the whole thing next time.”

Apparently, she suffered a little more for her art, but not before consulting with a “tutor” who advised her on how to fix the tattoo with some added characters. She also thanked her doctor for helping her deal with the pain in her hand in a since- deleted Instagram post. “Thanks to my tutor for helping me fix … And to my doctor for the lidocaine shots (no joke). RIP tiny charcoal grill. Miss u man. I actually really liked u,” she said.

But something was lost in the translation. According to Us Weekly, the misplacement of the new characters underneath the original tat changed its meaning. So, yes — goodbye, barbecue grill. Hello, barbecue finger.
