Former U.S. customs agent sentenced for taping sexual encounters
A former customs agent at San Francisco International Airport has been sentenced to one year in county jail after jurors convicted him of secretly filming his sexual encounters with a woman he met on the job.
San Bruno resident Scott Michael Inouye, 33, also received three years’ probation and a ban from working as a state or federal law enforcement officer, according to the San Mateo County District Attorney’s Office.
The case dates back to last year, when Inouye was working as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent and met a woman while conducting “screening activities” at SFO, prosecutors said.
The duo began dating, but on Aug. 11, the woman told San Bruno police that she thought she had been videotaped without her knowledge while engaging in sexual activity with Inouye.
An investigation corroborated the suspicion, police said at the time, and Inouye was arrested later that month and placed on administrative leave by Customs and Border Protection.
In November, Inouye was found guilty of three felony counts related to filming without consent and one count of witness dissuasion after he tried to stop the woman from cooperating with prosecutors. Before that, he had been out of custody on $60,000 bail.
His sentencing also included a no- contact order with the victim for three years and over $1,500 in restitution, plus counseling and no possession of firearms or weapons.
