A San Bruno man previously indicted on child porn possession charges later directed a 15-yearold in Oklahoma to send him sexually explicit images, federal authorities allege, days before the girl attempted suicide.

James Henry Prezkop Calvert, 27, was indicted by a federal grand jury and arrested in September after authorities said they found 18 videos containing child pornography on his cellphone. Now he faces new charges related to images he traded with a girl in Oklahoma on the chat site Kik, according to an affidavit filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

The investigation began in August, when the FBI in San Francisco received a report from London counterparts that child pornography had been uncovered in a chatroom on the instant messaging app Kik.

A user named XxJhpCxX had posted two videos in May depicting the rape of prepubescent girls, investigators said. An email address linked to the account quickly led them to Calvert via social media and public records.

The FBI obtained a search warrant for his San Bruno home, and on Aug. 9, it found a cellphone in his bedroom that allegedly stored at least 18 videos involving sexually explicit content with children.

Calvert was indicted and arrested in September. He was released from jail after posting a $40,000 unsecured bond and was placed under location monitoring, according to the complaint.

But that wasn’t the end of it. From Dec. 26 to Dec. 30, Calvert allegedly began exchanging messages with a 15-year- old girl in Oklahoma, according to the complaint.

In at least two instances, he allegedly directed her to send him sexually explicit content, which she did. He also sent a selfie of his own face, investigators said.

At one point, the complaint says, the girl told Calvert that her mom wanted her to clean the house, leading investigators to believe he knew she was a minor living with her parents.

On Jan. 1, the girl attempted suicide, the complaint says. In the days following, her parents reviewed the content of her cellphone and contacted investigators when they saw she had exchanged sexual content on Kik with Calvert and other users.

Investigators again traced the username and IP address back to Calvert, who allegedly used the same IP address registered to his San Bruno home when posting the child rape videos back in May.

The complaint was filed in support of a new arrest warrant.
