Arrest made in sexual assault of juvenile Oct. 18

LOS GATOS >> A 35-year- old Bodega Bay man has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a juvenile near Vasona Lake County Park in Los Gatos last month, police said.
T he incident was reported on Benedict Lane, near Chirco Drive, about 4 p. m. Oct. 18, according to the Los Gatos- Monte Sereno Police Department. Police released a sketch of the man and surveillance images of his vehicle, a tan Mercedes- Benz Sprinter Van with unique markings, in the hopes someone would recognize him.
On Tuesday, Marin County Sheriff’s Office detectives located the vehicle and the suspect in Novato, police said.
“In collaboration with Los Gatos- Monte Sereno detectives, it was determined that the suspect and vehicle observed matched th es ur veillance photographs obtained during this investigation,” said Los GatosMonte Sereno police Capt. Clinton Tada in a news release.
Tada said the suspect was arrested on a $1 million warrant. Los GatosMonte Sereno police detectives took custody of the man and booked him into Santa Clara County jail on charges of sexual penetration by force and sexual batter y and assault while unlawfully restrained.
According to online jail records, he is being held at the Elmwood Correctional Facility in Milpitas and is scheduled to appear in court today.
