MOUNTAIN VIEW >> An investment behemoth from Wall Street has grabbed a big Mountain View office building, an indication that global players continue to hunger for Silicon Valley properties in choice locations.

The three- story building is located at 331 Fairchild Drive in Mountain View, Santa Clara County property documents show.

G oldman Sachs, the New York City- based investment banking titan founded in 1869, bought the building, according to property records that were filed with county officials on Dec. 2.

Acting through an affiliate, 331 Fairchild Owner, Goldman Sachs paid $75.9 million for the building, the public property documents show.

The seller was Kilroy Realty, a veteran real es

Steve Golubchik, Edmund Najera, and Darren Hollak, brokers with commercial real estate firm Newmark, arranged the deal.

The office building totals 87,100 square feet, according to a LoopNet listing. K nowles Intelligent Audio and Black

Goldman Sachs at the time of the transaction obtained $58.7 million in financing from West Core Lending Fund, which is a private equity fund, Santa Clara County public records show.

A real estate unit of Goldman is the division of the investment firm that is most closely involved w ith the prop - erty purchase, the county documents indicate. Joseph Sumberg, co- director of private real estate for Goldman Sachs Asset Management, was listed as the responsible party who signed for the mortgage.

Among the building’s amenit ie s: a tra in in g room, a cafeteria, an outdoor patio, and a barbecue area.

The building is located in a part of Silicon Valley where some major tech titans are located. Google’s headquarters in Mountain View are four minutes away by car. Microsoft also has big operations in the vicinity.

Plenty of investors were interested in purchasing the building despite coronavirus uncertainties due to Google’s major presence in the area, property experts said.
