Robert Saleh has another suitor after his interview Thursday with his hometown Detroit Lions. The New York Jets are joining four other teams in pursuit of Saleh, the 49ers’ defensive coordinator the past four seasons, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero. Saleh began his head- coaching interviews Monday with the Atlanta Falcons. The Lions’ facility is three miles from where Saleh played high school football 25 years ago.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Los Angeles Chargers also want to speak with Saleh. The Houston Texans are the only team amid a coaching search that’s yet to float interest in Saleh; they confirmed this morning that their new general manager is Nick Caserio, formerly of the New England Patriots. Saleh was a finalist for the Cleveland Browns post a year ago that went to Kevin Stefanoach Kyle Shana han’s coaching staff figures to have multiple changes whether Saleh leaves or not. An in-house candidate to replace him as defensive coordinator is linebackers coach DeMeco Ryans.
