At 16 yrs old he worked as a messenger for Admiral Furlough at Pearl Harbor when the base had been bombed. He continued working until he joined the Army-Aircorp.

They first moved to San Francisco, then the family settled in Cupertino where he worked as a cabinet maker. After retiring they moved to Rocklin, Ca.

He loved to travel, meet people, tasted beer on the way, listening to good “Crooner” music, and always had a song in his heart. Most of the time he shared those songs out loud wherever he was.

My parents were married for 55 years at the time of her passing. He continued to live in their Rocklin home until August of 2020 when he made his final move to Forest Grove, Oregon to live with his daughter.

He passed in the hospital with his daughter by his side, knowing that he was loved by family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter, Marianne Freitas; brother and sisters-in-laws, Waltraud Büchner, Doris Kaiser, and Jürgen Kaiser; nephews and nieces, Larry Brede( Claire), Mike Brede (PeeCee), Ronald Kaiser (Sabine), Susanne Rebermann (Burkhard), Jörg Büchner (Nicky), Thomas Kaiser, Marian Blanchard, Lisa Guidone (Ron), Carla Freitas, Mark Freitas ( Christi); and many great nieces and nephews.
