Election Day should be held on Veterans Day

It was an act by Congress in 1872 that made the second Tuesday in November Election Day. I urge us to encourage Congress to move future election days back a week to the existing federal holiday of Veterans Day. There is no day more fitting for us to dedicate ourselves to studying the issues and celebrating our democracy than the day dedicated to honoring those who defended our democracy. It would allow students across the nation to witness the political process.
