Cal football’s recruiting coordinator and wide receivers coach has been placed on administrative leave after his arrest last week in Oakland as part of prostitution sting that netted five johns, officials said Monday.

Pierre Ingram, 30, recently named the Bears’ passing game coordinator, was arrested after police said he allegedly solicited an undercover officer online and then showed up April 16 at the Motel 6 on Embarcadero. He was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor solicitation of a lewd act, was booked, cited and released, and given a court date to appear next month.

The San Jose State athletic department will n receive an additional $ 1.6 million from the university in 2015- 16 to cover expenses related to changes in NCAA legislation, athletic director Gene Bleymaier said. The funding will enable the Spartans to pay for cost- of- attendance stipends and additional meals for student- athletes in every sport beginning Aug. 1.

It’s comparable to the outlays made by other schools in the Mountain West Conference, but there’s a catch: “It’s a one- time allotment for athletics, with the understanding that we need to figure out how to pay ( for the increase in studentathlete services) going forward,” Bleymaier said.

San Jose State’s Megan Osland was just one n of two golfers to shoot under- par, and the Spartans women’s team is second at 293 after the first round of the Mountain West championship at Rancho Mirage. Osland shot a 3- under- par 69 in the first round at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club. She is three shots behind San Diego State’s Milagros Chaves. SJSU’s Elizabeth Schultz is tied for sixth after a 73.

nStanford is second and Cal ninth after the first day of the Pac- 12 women’s golf championships in Boulder, Colorado. Oregon is in the lead, two shots ahead of Stanford at Boulder Country Club. Stanford’s Casey Danielson and Mariah Stackhouse shot 1- under- par 70 and are tied for third.

Jasmine Smithson- Willett homered, and n top- ranked Oregon ( 38- 5, 16- 2 Pac- 12) beat host Stanford ( 16- 29, 1- 14) 6- 3 to complete a three- game sweep. Erin Ashby had a two- run double for the Cardinal.

Santa Clara’s Mary Kriege and Joey Berriatua n set school records at the Mt. SAC Relays track meet over the weekend. Kriege’s record came in the women’s 10,000 meters, where she clocked 35 minutes, 12.72 seconds. Berriatua set the school mark in the men’s 1,500 with a time of 3: 49.35.

San Jose Giants

Nick Vander Tuig, Martin Agosta and Mason McVay teamed on a four- hitter, and Rafael Rodriguez hit a two- run single as the Giants beat the Inland Empire 66ers 5- 0 at Municipal Stadium.
