Mets 3, Braves 2: Lucas Duda hit a tiebreakin­g single in the eighth inning that sent New York to its 10th consecutiv­e victory. Despite injuries to several key players, New York ( 12- 3) is off to its best start since the 1986 World Series champions opened 13- 3. n Mets ace Matt Harvey has a mild left ankle sprain but the teamsays he will make his next scheduled start Saturday at Yankee Stadium. Blue Jays 4, Orioles 2: Rookie Devon Travis got three hits, including a goahead home run as Toronto posted back- to- back home wins for the first time this season. Toronto was without Jose Bautista, who sat out because of a strained right shoulder. He was hurt trying to throw out a Baltimore batter from right field during a testy game Tuesday night. Bautista won’t play the outfield for the next few days and could end up on the disabled list if his shoulder doesn’t improve soon. Reds 2, Brewers 1: Billy Hamilton dashed home on a two- out wild pitch in the ninth inning to send Milwaukee to its eighth straight loss. The Brewers have the worst record in the majors at 2- 13. Yankees 13, Tigers 4: New York scored six runs off David Price in the first inning amid swirling snow flurries, and Mark Teixeira added a threerun homer in the seventh. Price ( 1- 1) allowed eight runs and 10 hits in 2 ⁄ innings. n Tigers closer Joe Nathan left his rehab outing with Triple- AToledo after pitching less than an inning because of pain in his elbow.“He felt a pop on a fastball,” Detroit manager Brad Ausmus said. “The first two hitters went well, then he felt it, thought maybe it was scar tissue, tried to throw another ( practice) pitch but it didn’t go so well. So we’re going to get him checked out.” Mariners: Veteran outfielder Carlos Quentin agreed to a minor league contract. The Stanford product will report to Triple- ATacoma.
